Otsego County has received more than $842,000 in grants for improvements to emergency and public safety communications infrastructure and equipment, officials said Monday.
The awards were $157,687 under the state Public Safety Answering Points Operation Grant Program and $684,650 under the state Statewide Interoperable Communications Grant Program, according to a media release. The programs, administered by the state Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, enhances emergency response capabilities, operating procedures and infrastructure development, among other support, the release sad.
The awards were announced by the Otsego County Board of Representatives and the 911 Communications Department.
