A Queens man trapped by a raging fire and collapsed stairway survived early Friday by wrapping himself in bedsheets until an FDNY hero pulled him to safety. Seven firefighters and another four civilians were injured in the inferno that started on the second floor of the Corona home shortly before sunrise, with its residents rising to a terrifying scene of smoke and fire. "It was big," said eyewitness Jason Cardenas, 17, who lives in the house behind the residence on Case St. near Whitney Ave. "The whole back was on fire." Lt. Kevin O'Hare, working his second fire of the night, slipped past the flames and the wreckage to locate the unidentified victim.
