In the wake of the fire that destroyed a Sackets Harbor business, village officials say they are thankful for the bravery of the firefighters who fought the blaze.
Mayor Molly Reilly thanked first responders at a village board meeting Tuesday night.
There wasn't much discussion about the fire at the meeting, but leaders did talk about plans moving forward. That includes ensuring all hot spots are put out and making sure the village's water system is strong.
Firefighters used thousands of gallons of water to put out the fire at the Anchor bar and restaurant on West Main Street.
The Anchor went up in flames around 11:30 Monday night. No one was inside the building and no one was hurt.
Fire officials say the flames were so intense, it was too dangerous to go inside, so crews had to battle the blaze from outside.
Officials are looking for a cause, but say it doesn't appear suspicious.
