Rochester City Council members confirm to News10NBC that they plan to meet next week with the Rochester fire chief to discuss dynamic staffing. Dynamic staffing is an initiative to reduce overtime costs by closing a fire station for certain shifts. Any calls received during that time will be covered by the next closest engine. However, the concept has some concerned about response times when those stations are closed. Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren says a study shows it won't impact public safety and will save taxpayers a million dollars. The meeting between City Council and the fire chief is set for Wednesday, July 24.
