A LaGrange family lost their Johnson Road home in an early morning fire, but all members escaped safely.
The fire heavily damaged the two-story house. Firefighters arrived around 4:33 a.m., according to Barry Ward, LaGrange fire chief.
When firefighters arrived on scene, Ward said there was "heavy fire" near the rear of the structure where it is believed to have originated. "Upon dispatch we were informed that there were potential victims still trapped in the building," Ward said. "We got a further update when we were responding that all five occupants were out of the building."
Ward said no firefighters were injured.
"LaGrange crews commenced with an exterior and interior attack," he said. "Getting the fire under control in about 40 to 45 minutes."
