The Syracuse Fire Department responded to a house fire at 418 Seneca Drive early Thursday morning. When firefighters arrived at 2 a.m., they found a 2 ½ story wood framed, single family home filled with heavy smoke. The fire was located on the first floor and extended to the second floor. The fire was extinguished and no victims were found. Three adults were all able to escape prior to firefighters arrival at the scene. People living in the home said they were awoken by a smoke detector and the smell of smoke. One person said they jumped from a second floor window, but was not injured. A closed bedroom door at the top of the staircase prevented smoke and fire from extending to the rear of the second floor. The damage was contained to the first and second floors in the front of the home.
