Police say 16 people were sickened with carbon monoxide poisoning while on a boat that was docking at a Port Jefferson marina Sunday. They say the 35-foot private boat was traveling from City Island in the Bronx to Port Jefferson when the boaters felt sick. Officials say the carbon monoxide was detected inside the cabin of the boat, affecting 12 adults and four children between 10 years old and 13 years old. An additional person on board the boat was not affected. The victims were transported to multiple hospitals for treatment. The carbon monoxide poisoning was deemed non-criminal by police.
