A massive turnout of firefighters congregated in Steuben County to battle a barn fire. Department from across the area responded to 11677 Fish Pond Road in Caton after the first calls for assistance came in around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday. A tower of smoke could be seen coming from the barn. A WENY News reporter on scene saw at least two dozen fire trucks and pumpers on site. Because of the lack of hydrants, firefighters set up a fill site approximately one mile away at a nearby pond to get water to the scene. No one was available on scene, but WENY News is working to learn the extent of the damage, or if anyone was injured.
