While the seasons have changed from spring to summer to fall, planning for emergency calls during a pandemic has not, according to David Hubble.
Hubble, a lieutenant with the Canandaigua Emergency Squad, said all pandemic measures first put in place from the spring have remained in place.
“Social distancing, proper PPE usage, ambulance decontamination and personal care have always been at the forefront of operations at Canandaigua Emergency Squad since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Hubble said. While the squad has now “taken several steps above the general recommendations” in keeping their crews safe, Hubble admitted it was a bit difficult to get a handle on what precautions were the most effective in the spring.
