The loss of 43-year-old Firefighter James Marshall has made Ladder Co. 84 in Huguenot feel like a different place. “Knowing that he’s not here anymore, the world really just turns differently,” said fellow Firefighter James Felitti. “Jimmy not being in the firehouse is a very, very strange thing. Guys are walking around like zombies.” Marshall, an Eltingville resident, registered 19 years with the FDNY before the car he was driving struck the rear of a tractor-trailer on Route 9 in New Jersey last week. He was killed in the crash, the Advance/SILive.com reported. He comes from a family steeped in service. He was the son of James Marshall Sr., who had a 23-year career as an FDNY firefighter and heroically worked at Ground Zero in 2001.
