Emergency personnel in Ithaca rescued an injured man from Cascadilla Creek Gorge Trail this weekend. The City of Ithaca Fire Department reportedly received a call just before 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18th for a man found by a passerby on the trail.
The Ithaca Fire Department, Bangs Ambulance, Cornell Environmental Health and Safety, Ithaca Police, Cornell Police and EMS were all sent to the creek area to try and locate the person.
In a coordinated response, rescue crews hiked up the trail from Stewart Ave. while other crews attempted to locate the man from behind Cascadilla Hall on the Cornell Campus. Ithaca Fire Dept. officials say the victim was found about midway on the trail on an embankment, about 50 feet up.
