The FDNY descended on the South Beach Houses Wednesday afternoon for an “all-hands" response to a blaze on the fourth floor of one of its apartments buildings. The department arrived to the scene at 132 Kramer St. after being called for a fire at around 1:11 p.m., according to an official from the FDNY’s press office. The fire was determined to be on the fourth floor, where windows were seen smashed afterwards and an FDNY ladder extended into one of the apartments. The FDNY said the fire was under control at around 1:39 p.m. Two firefighters were transported to Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) in Ocean Breeze following the fire to be treated for injuries, the department said. The extent of those injuries were not immediately available.
