The Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department was one of four Nassau County fire departments that will receive money through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response Grant and Assistance to Firefighters Grant programs. Through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, the LCFD will receive $115,000 for a new ambulance. The federal grant funding was announced by Rep. Kathleen Rice, who represents the Five Towns and many other communities in the 4th Congressional District. “I'd like to thank the Congresswoman for her unwavering support,” LCFD Chief Michael Beilinson said in a statement. “This ambulance is going to help us continue to provide the highest level of patient care to our community.”
