Nine people among two families were displaced from a Saturday morning fire that damaged a apartment building on Rock Street in the village. “It’s still under investigation,” Canajoharie Police Chief Bryan MacFadden said this morning. Officials said the structure was not totally destroyed, but five adults and four children were displaced. According to the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page, village crews were called out at 8:24 a.m. Saturday to an apartment building on Rock Street. Officials said a call came for a possible fire in the wall of the building. Engines and rescue vehicles responded and fire officials found a smoke condition inside the upper apartment.
