A fire at a townhouse complex in Arrochar on Wednesday morning injured six people, including four firefighters.
The fire was reported at 6:55 a.m. at a four-story, multiple dwelling at 81 Narrows Road North near Fingerboard Road, according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.
A firefighter with serious injuries was transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze while three additional firefighters were treated or evaluated at the scene, according the spokesman. Conditions were not available for two civilians, who were also taken to Staten Island University Hospital.
A video shows thick plumes of black smoke rising from the blaze, which could be seen by drivers on the Staten Island Expressway.
Flames could be shooting out of the upper-level windows.
