A fire damaged a building early Wednesday morning in the village of Rouses Point. Dispatchers from Clinton County Emergency Services said the first call for the blaze at the home on Chapman Street came in just before 4:20 a.m. A total of seven fire departments responded, said dispatchers. The building sustained heavy damage inside and the siding on a neighboring home appeared to be melted. Dispatchers said there were no reports of injuries. Crews had to close down Chapman Street in the area of Delaware and Maple streets for several hours. As of 7:30 a.m., Chapman street was still shut down.
