Stephen Swanton, the Rochester man convicted of killing a retired firefighter outside of his seasonal home in Old Forge last year, has been sentenced to 45 years to life in prison.
Swanton, 44, shot two men following an argument during Labor Day weekend in 2020. The two men came to Swanton's seasonal home and were shot in the driveway.
The victim who died was 50-year-old Scott Krempler, a retired New York City firefighter from Putnam County. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
William Robertello, 55, of Oriskany, was hospitalized with a gunshot wound but survived.
In September, a jury found Swanton guilty of second-degree murder, first-degree assault and criminal use of a firearm.
He was also sentenced to 25 years to life on the murder charge, 20 years on the assault charge to be served consecutively.
