VIDEO: Roughly 16 people have been displaced, and at least three firefighters are hurt after a three-alarm fire in Rochester Wednesday night.
Crews responded to a multi-family home on Fulton Avenue near Emerson Street just before 10 p.m. and found the home engulfed in flames. Rochester Fire Department Public Information Officer Ryan Fleming says the home's design made it difficult to fight the fire, especially as flames spread to the four units within it. Because of the spread, he says the fire was bumped up to a third alarm. The fire had also spread to a next-door home.
Fleming says parts of the home suffered "extensive" fire damage, but everybody inside was able to make it out safe. Three firefighters were hurt, but Fleming called the injuries minor.
