PHOTO: Quick action by firefighters saved a Gallatin home Saturday morning, Second Assistant Chief Jeff Galm from the Milan Fire Department, said Monday.
At about 6:45 a.m., Milan firefighters were sent to 1208 Jackson Corners Road in Gallatin after receiving reports of a structure fire.
When fire officials arrived at the home they requested mutual-aid assistance from neighboring companies and went to work fighting the fire, which was in a building that was used for recreation and storage and was attached to the home, Galm said.
The fire caused major damage to the recreational building. The ceiling and walls burned and the possessions inside were destroyed, Galm said.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the home.
All of the occupants were able to get out safely. There were no reported injuries, Galm said.
