VIDEO: Two people have died at a Syracuse hospital, where they were taken after they were rescued from a raging fire in their town of Pierrepont home late Sunday night. Two state troopers, a St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputy, and firefighters rescued 64-year-old Ricky Gollinger and 62-year-old Lena Gollinger from where they were trapped inside a front corner bedroom at 4545 County Route 24. The two were taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital and were later transferred to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. State police said earlier Monday they were listed in critical condition. An update from troopers a short time later said they had died. Officials told 7 News Sunday night that the couple had suffered severe burns. Two other adults and four children made it out of the home without injuries.
