Ogdensburg, Heuvelton firefighters put out house fire

Ogdensburg Fire Department responded to a house fire on the 900 block of Caroline Street today (Tuesday, Aug. 2) at 11:30 a.m. after reports that the house was filling with smoke. Engine 3 and Engine 1 with five total personnel responded under the command of Capt. Al Rickett, the department posted on the Ogdensburg Professional Firefighters Local 1799 Facebook page. Units arrived and nothing was visible at first and Capt. Rickett established command and went to investigate, the post said. At approximately the same time smoke began issuing from front the front door. Capt Rickett updated dispatch of smoke showing and requested an all call for off duty personnel and Heuvelton with an engine and manpower. A hydrant was secured and a line was stretched to the front door.
