Firefighters will honor a fallen Spring Valley comrade with a prestigious award. On Wednesday, the 150th annual "Firefighters Association of the State of New York Convention" will be held at the Tarrytown House Estate at 11 a.m. This year's "Firefighter of the Year Award" will be given posthumously to former Spring Valley firefighter Jared Lloyd. Lloyd lost his life in the line of duty, battling the blaze at the Evergreen Assisted Living Facility in March of 2021.
