1 killed in Geneva mobile home fire

One person was killed during a fire at a mobile home Thursday morning. According to the Geneva Fire Department, the fire was first reported at 9:27 a.m. Crews arrived at the scene in the 3500 block of Austin Road two minutes later. When crews arrived, witnesses said there was a person inside the mobile home. After making entry into the home, crews found a body in a back bedroom. The Ashtabula County Coroner has not publicly identified the victim. The Ohio State Fire Marshal was called to the scene to determine the cause of the blaze, which originated in the rear of the home. A second resident was not home at the time of the fire. The Geneva Fire Department says the home appears to be a total loss.
