A 75-year-old man who was trapped in his car for 13 hours didn’t think he’d make it out alive.
"And I can't believe I'm alive. Can’t believe I'm alive," Pete Pyros told Fox 8. He became trapped in his 2006 Cadillac last week when his key fob stopped working and the car’s electrical system went dead.
Stuck inside his garage on Cleveland's west side, he couldn't find a switch to unlock the doors. He didn't have a cell phone.
"I was screaming. I tried to punch the window. I tried to kick the window. Nothing happened," He added. "Hot is not the word. Hot is not the word. I felt like I was in hell."
Pyros scribbled a goodbye note on a piece of paper.
"I was convinced I was gonna die. That's all I could think of," he said.
Alert neighbors heard faint pounding and noticed Pyros garage door open long after dark. Firefighters got him out.
