Parma’s Touch a Truck, which provides free family fun for kids to get inside safety vehicles and interact with first responders, is on the move. After four successful years at the University Hospitals Parma Health Education Center, Touch a Truck Event Director Chelsey Kovar said the community response was so big that the decision was made to move the popular event to a larger footprint with ample parking at The Shoppes at Parma. This year’s Touch a Truck takes place from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 24 on the Day Drive side of the busy retail area. “With more than 20 different trucks and vehicles, we’ll have a much bigger space,” Kovar said. “There’s really good parking across the street with two crosswalks making it easier for people to be able to park and walk safely across the street.”
