Perrysburg Deputy Fire Chief Tom Granata has been returned to active duty after the Wood County Sheriff's Office found no evidence of wrongdoing following an administrative investigation. Chief Rudy Ruiz confirmed that Granata had been cleared, though the city has had no comment on the type of complaint that was filed. "It was determined that there was no evidence of any violation of the rules of personal conduct," Ruiz said. "The city had to do its due diligence, and he understands that." Granata was placed on paid administrative leave on Dec. 18. Mayor Tom Mackin told WTOL recently that the investigation was regarding an administrative issue, not criminal. "He's back, and we're all happy that he's back," Ruiz said.
