Firefighters were called out early Tuesday to put out flames that spread through a tractor-trailer at a truck stop in Weathersfield. The fire was reported shortly before 4 a.m. near diesel fuel pumps behind the Petro truck stop along Salt Springs Road. The first firefighter to arrive said the fire was spreading throughout the entire tractor-trailer causing substantial damage. More firefighters, a rescue squad, and hazmat were dispatched to help put out the fire which also damaged another nearby vehicle. No one was injured.
