Premier Health is partnering with first responders to improve the transfer of patient information. The health network says relaying documents from paramedics to hospital staff more rapidly could help save lives. Whether it's a heart attack or a car crash, patient records go into an online system that works as a two way street. First responders upload the data they collected while transporting a patient to the hospital. Staff at the hospital can upload information on the patient during their stay in the emergency room. Both sides can access the data in the system. Medical Director of Premier Health EMS Center of Excellence, Dr. Randy Marriott says it's all about improving communication between EMS and hospital staff when it comes to patient records.
