Fire crews from several communities battled a house fire in New Carlisle.
Firefighters responded to reports of a fire on W. Jefferson Street, near S. Henry Street, just before 5 a.m. Thursday.
When crews arrived, they found a two-story house on fire. Firefighters were able to knock down the flames.
The homeowner tells 2NEWS someone passing by saw the garage of the house on fire and pounded on the door until the people inside the house woke up.
The homeowner, his wife and their two dogs got out safely. They went across the street to a neighbors house to call 911.
According to the homeowner, the house did not have smoke detectors.
No injuries have been reported.
