A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after an overnight apartment fire. The fire started just after 11:00 Friday night at the King's Cove apartments on Key Street. The Toledo Fire and Rescue department tells 13abc when firefighters arrived there was smoke showing from the second floor. Firefighters entered the building and found a fire in the kitchen. The man living in the unit was pulled out by a neighbor before firefighters arrived on scene. The man was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim's name has not been released. Firefighters have ruled that the fire was accidental. Some surrounding apartments have minor water and smoke damage. Damage estimates are about $12,000. A spokesperson for TFRD says the apartment complex has working smoke detectors.
