House fire in Mansfield displaces couple

A man and his wife escaped a fire which heavily damaged their house at 161 Redwood Rd. early Tuesday morning. The fire was reported at the Brad Humble residence by multiple people at 1:25 a.m., according to the Mansfield Fire Department. No one was injured but two vehicles in the driveway caught fire and were extinguished by firefighters. Heavy flames were showing in the windows of the house and from the roof when firefighters arrived at the scene, according to the fire report. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to the fire report. The garage and bedroom right above the garage sustained heavy damage, with a metal beam collapsing into the garage. The residents were displaced by the fire damage. Humble was awakened by a smoke detector and his wife said she woke up after hearing a "pop" sound.
