The Kettering Fire Department on Wednesday recognized 9-year-old Avriauna Taylor for saving her grandmother's life in July. Trudy Jarrett was in need of help when she became light-headed from a lack of oxygen, fell and hit her head on the stove. When Avriauna saw her grandmother in trouble, she rushed out of the house and knocked on doors of neighboring houses until she was able to rouse someone to call 911. "She's my hero. She saved my life," Jarrett told News Center 7's James Rider in July.
