A local first responder has tested positive for COVID-19. Tim Frease, a Youngstown fire department captain who is also a firefighter/paramedic at Canfield's Cardinal Joint Fire District, got his test results back Wednesday after being tested on March 26. He is one of three Youngstown firefighters from station one who has been in self-quarantine after having flu-like symptoms last week. Youngstown's Fire Chief Barry Finley said the other two firefighters tested negative but the clinic said it could be false negatives and they are going to continue the 14-day quarantine and get retested. Frease is feeling better with a lingering cough but he described it as different than anything else he ever experienced before.
