Concord Township is seeking approval of a 26-year $8 million dollar bond issue this November. Trustees unanimously adopted a resolution to place the issue on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot. Funds from the $8 million bond issue (estimated 0.6 mills) would be used for constructing, furnishing and equipping fire station buildings and improving the site. The recent action marks the culmination of community feedback and input from township residents openly solicited in a series of stakeholder meetings on the proposed station plans. According to the board, new footprints for Station No. 1 and 2 were revealed, with reduced square footage. All three trustees agreed getting the stations built sooner than later behooves the township operationally and economically.
