Residents in Bazetta township cold see lower home insurance rates in the future as the Bazetta Township Fire Department has received a new rating from the Insurance Services Organization (ISO).
The department will be moving from a class 4 rating to a class 3 rating.
ISO evaluates a community's water supply, fire hydrants, communication systems, number of personnel, training hours and facilities in order to put out a rating for residents.
The ratings calculate how well-equipped fire departments are to put out fires in a particular community.
The score is then provided to homeowner's insurance companies to help set insurance rates.
The more well-equipped a fire department is to put out a fire, the less likely your house is to burn down and less expensive, to insure.
