If current progress continues, the Granville Township Fire Department will be operating from its new South Main Street station before Halloween.
Depending on prevailing pandemic conditions, there could also be a community celebration to mark the occasion of the rare construction of a new Granville-area public building in late October or early November.
Fire Chief Casey Curtis told Granville Township Trustees July 22 that Robertson Construction, which is managing the project, says the fire house build remains “on time.”
A tower roof was installed the week of July 13. Currently, crews are wrapping up siding and metal roof installation to the rest of the structure.
But “dry wall is the big project right now,” Curtis said. “They’re still doing (finishing coats) and starting painting throughout the building.”
