Avon’s Fire Prevention Bureau provides solid fire tips for homeowners. Autumn, said Fire Chief Frank Root, means sealed up homes, fireplaces and holiday trees and decorations are just around the corner. He offered a list of fire safety tips for “for keeping you safe in your home.” The tips go into clear detail and offer some possible new perspectives.
He also noted the department has added a lieutenant to the Fire Prevention Bureau. Each company’s captain and lieutenant are required to become a State Certified Fire Safety Inspector.
