Flames tore through the roof of a home on Erter Drive forcing a family to find a new place to live this afternoon. Firefighters responded to the home in the 2900 block of Erter Drive around 3:30 p.m. and discovered a fire in the attic. Four children and two adults were able to get out of the home safely. Investigators said the house had working smoke detectors and are working to determine what caused the fire to start. The family was able to find family members to stay with, since the home is unlivable.
