A construction crew in Canfield had quite a surprise Thursday morning.
Tony Russo, of Russo Builders, called first responders after finding a fox in the frame of a house they are building on Village Boulevard in Canfield.
The fox looked like he was bleeding slightly, but Canfield police and firefighters were able to get him out safely with a dog snare and release him in the backyard.
“We worked with the construction crew there on finding the best way and safest way for us and the fox, too. We didn’t want to cause any additional harm to that fox,” said Capt. Conner O’Halloran.
Jamey Emmert, with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, said he was glad to hear everything turned out well for the animal and the humans.
“It is always great to hear when wildlife is in a predicament no humans are hurt in the process, and the wildlife has a positive outcome,” Emmert said.
