From the fire department to your doorstep. The Vandalia Fire department announced via social media that it will start bringing doses to residents in Vandalia and Butler Township starting with six scheduled visits next week. “We have people in the community that are concerned with going to some of the pods with COVID-19 and they wanted an easier and safer way to get it in the community," said VFD Public Information Officer, Scott Jacobs. The department will use its trucks and ambulances to bring the vaccine to the doorsteps of residents, but say it won't affect its response times getting to fires or emergencies. EMS crews will administer the doses.
