A fire that destroyed a garage at a Hopewell Road property west of Cambridge Saturday evening also damaged a car and a boat. No injuries were reported, according to a dispatch log at the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office. The occupants of a mobile home located near the garage were not home at the time of the fire. A caller from a neighboring property across the road reported the fire via a 911 call at 6:19 p.m. The caller advised the garage was located near a house, but nobody was believed to be home. Firefighters from the Cassell Station and Liberty Volunteer departments were dispatched with mutual aid later requested from the Newcomerstown, Cambridge and West Lafayette departments. The garage was reported to be fully engulfed in flames at 6:29 p.m.
