As COVID cases continue to rise in Jefferson County, so do the amount of ambulance calls. Emergency room wait times have been increasing in Jefferson County as a result of more people requesting ambulances. A stronger urge is coming from EMS and health care officials to get people who aren't having a true medical emergency to not go to the ER via ambulance to alleviate unnecessary stress and wait times. "Our staff is doing everything we can to see patients,” Trinity Health System Marketing Director Laurie Labishak said.
