A hawk is now safe after being rescued by Ohio firefighters on Tuesday. Officers with the North Canton Police Department and firefighters from the Fire Department responded to a batting cage near Hoover High School after receiving a report of a hawk stuck in the batting cage. Firefighters tossed a blanket over the hawk to calm it down and then an officer removed the hawk from the netting. The hawk was free just before 9:50 a.m. The North Canton Police Department commended the officers and firefighters for their work.
