A Salem family of seven has been displaced after a home garage fire Thursday afternoon.
Marion County Fire District #1 responded to a report of a residential fire on the 4100 block of Boxberry Court NE in Salem around 12:50 p.m.
Roughly 17 firefighters knocked down the fire in 15 minutes, said Deputy Fire Chief Kyle McMann.
Two adults, five children and two pets were not injured in the fire.
Officials with the American Red Cross — Cascades Region provided temporary housing, food, clothing, toiletry items and information about recovery services to the displaced family.
