One person and two dogs are deceased following a home fire on the 200 block of Chiloquin boulevard this morning. Officials are still investigating the identity of the deceased person. Chiloquin Fire and Rescue Chief Mike Cook said they received a call about the fire around 7 a.m., and responded with engines and an ambulance. “Upon arrival we had a fully involved structure fire that we mitigated rather rapidly — we had it under control in approximately 10 minutes,” Cook said. The fire was extinguished by 8 a.m., he said. As off 11:15 a.m., officials were still on the scene. Cook said the cause and place of origin of the fire are still under investigation. The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Fire Marshall are assisting Chiloquin Fire and Rescue in the investigation, he said. Cook said they were able to save two dogs in the fire.
