PHOTO: The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says two people died in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning. Deputies responded to a report of the crash shortly before 3 a.m. on Hazelgreen Road Northeast near 8th Avenue. When deputies and Marion County Fire District #1 arrived on scene, they found both occupants inside the crashed delivery truck had died. Investigators determined the delivery truck was traveling west on Hazelgreen Road Northeast prior to the crash. They say the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road and then drove of the road and struck a utility pole. Hazelgreen Road was closed between 75th Avenue Northeast and 80th Avenue Northeast during the investigation. It reopened around 11:30 a.m. Portland General Electric will replace the pole once the investigation is complete.
