Since Monday, the Roseburg Fire Department has been conducting training exercises at the former Safeway building at 406 SE Rose St, which is vacant.
From April 23 to 25, they will be training for roof operations, and from April 29 to May 1, they will be training for defensive operations.
Fire officials said crews will be using large hose lines to maximize their water supply and get the water they need to extinguish the fire.
They also plan to do rooftop firefighting and practice rooftop rescues.
Firefighters from Douglas County Fire District #2 will also be on site for the training.
