It is the second time in the month of August that Rural Metro Fire in Grants Pass has had their equipment stolen.
This time, a Stihl Model 362 chainsaw was stolen from the back lot of the Fire Station. Last time, a set of wildland and structural gear was stolen from one of their own firefighters at Lincoln Elementary School.
Rural Metro said the chainsaw costs between $800 to $1,000, so it is expensive to replace. Ethan Coates, an engineer at Rural Metro Fire, said the community helped them recover their stolen items last time.
"It sucks at the same time, you know getting stuff stolen on us. It is the second time in a month. The community has been a big help in getting our stuff back, that's why we like going to the media. People have been sharing it on Facebook and social media," said Coates.
