Six apartments were damaged in a fire on Tuesday night at the Creekside Village Apartments on Goodpasture Loop, officials with Eugene-Springfield Fire said.
At least five fire engines responded to the fire, which happened at about 9:30 p.m.
Fire officials said the damage is estimated to be $200,000. The cause is still under investigation, and no one was injured.
Much of the damage was caused by smoke and heat, Eugene-Springfield Fire said. Residents were forced out of the affected apartments overnight.
Deborah Saunders lives on the ground floor of the three-story building. She said she had just gotten out of the shower when she saw an orange glow outside of her patio. She said her apartment was damaged by smoke and water. Saunders said she had just moved in three months ago.
