Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue is finding new ways to help response times while also getting firefighters trained on the latest techniques. The new training trailer will allow crews to get hands-on training without using gear they will need for real emergencies. "The one thing we were always worried about is when the call came, how long it would take us to get out, get ready, and go when we have hose deployed on the ground,” TVF&R Captain Robert Petracca said. Practice makes perfect with the new training trailer, all without impacting how quickly they can respond to incidents around the region. “A crew can pull thousands of feet of hose off of this trailer and still have all of their hose on their fire engine when they need to respond,” said Training Officer Jeff Stewart. The trailer will travel to every station in TVFR's district. They expect it will help teach 500 firefighters by the end of 2020.
